Living Tradition

In the Middle Atlas, weaving is not a craft. It is a transmission. Berber women pass down the gestures, the patterns, the tension of the loom through generations, within cooperatives that have existed for centuries.

Each piece requires between four and eight weeks to complete, depending on size and the complexity of the weave. Over time, these rugs have moved well beyond their origins. They are now recognised as significant objects within contemporary interior design.

Arven works within one specific tradition: the M'Rirt rug, woven in the Middle Atlas. These pieces are defined by a high knot density and an exceptional quality of wool. A compact weave, finished with a flame process, produces a surface that is refined, precise, and unlike anything mass-made.
